Homeowner Spotlight: J. Williams
Ms. Williams, 71, has lived in her Parkside home for 60 years, and it’s where she currently lives with her daughter and two grandsons, ages 11 and 15. When she was 10, Ms. Williams’ parents purchased the Viola Street home, where they moved their family of 14 – and it’s been in her family ever since!
When asked what home means to her, Ms. Williams described how her home has been a safe gathering place for six generations.

Ms. Williams feels a sense of community because she has known the other families on the block for many years. To help take care of her neighborhood, she organizes and participates in block cleanup days; and she is active in the community garden.
Over the years, it has become difficult for Ms. Williams to maintain her home . RTP staff and contractors provided repairs that will allow Ms. Williams and her family to live safely and comfortably in their home.
