Join the Rebuilding Together Philadelphia 2010 Dragon Boat Team
It's Dragon Boat Season! RTP enters two boats in Philadelphia's Dragon Boat Festival each year to provide a chance for volunteers and other supporters to be together without working on essential home repairs. We celebrate the prior year's success and launch the current program year with our friendly competition on festival day – Gung Ho, Red Oar White and Becky's Beauties. These other dragon boat teams not only share party space with RTP on festival day, but also provide volunteer support to homeowners in need throughout the year. In addition to being a fun social event, the Dragon Boat Festival has become our signature fund-raiser. Our participation in the 2009 Festival raised more than $10,000; enough to make repairs to three homes in the spring of 2010.

A your tax-deductible registration fee of $250 is due by July 28th* (please indicate "Dragon Boat" for the designation, and you'll receive an email with a link to the festival registration/waiver form, which you'll need to complete prior to our first practice). We are also hoping that all of our paddlers participate in additional fund raising activities, so we'll provide lots of tools to help you introduce your friends and family to Rebuilding Together Philadelphia.
We are recruiting a total of 50 paddlers for 2 boats.
RTP I & II will be sharing practices so that paddlers from each team can get to know each other better. We've scheduled 5 practice sessions, and each paddler will have the opportunity to participate in at least 2.
Our practices have been scheduled for the following dates:
Saturday July 31 10:00 am to 11:00 am (2 boats)
Saturday August 14 11:00 am to 12:00 pm
Sunday August 29 at 11:00 am to 12:00 pm
Saturday September 11 8:00 am to 9:00 am
Festival Day is Saturday October 2 (8:00 am to 5:00 pm)
